The jprdv.com content ecosystem is an expanding constellation of enhanced blogs whose purpose is to become the ultimate references and guides for the remote, distributed, and online world, among many other great things we have coming. All this by also providing an engaging and entertaining experience along the way.
Now, it is time to introduce jprdvTheCorner.
jprdvTheCorner contains the personal/editorial/opinion section of jprdv.com, which supports the message provided in our mission statement: to become the definitive resource for remote/distributed workers, business owners, and entrepreneurs in a remote, distributed, and location-independent world where online empowers.
It also provides a place where Juan Pablo Rodriguez DV will share his experience, anecdotes, lessons, and other more personal aspects that wouldn't fit in our other enhanced blogs. And allows him to have a section where he can post free-form content.
jprdv.com has had more iterations than I would like to admit, with the first version of the site being developed around the year 2000 or so.
In the beginning, jprdv was meant to be a regular information page where I advertised my products and services (and, among other things, it is still meant to do that). Nevertheless, before the era of social media, I always wanted to share a little about myself, my life, and my personal views, among many things.
So for many iterations, I always had the idea to make a "semi-hidden" section in the site, which you would access by clicking the upper right corner of the site. And because of that, the section was initially called "The Corner."
But yes, imagine how cliche and generic that name is. Therefore, to make it unique, I namespaced it. That is a programmer's solution when the name of variables collide, which I have also used in the jprdvBlog.
Through enhanced blogs, I am attempting to make ultimate/definite guides for the remote, distributed, and location-independent world.
And I aim to do those as free of opinion, bias, and political orientation as possible. And note that I say "as possible" on purpose. I say this because my experience, which has made me gain a point of view that is (you guessed it) my opinion, is critical for much of the content in jprdv.com since a lot of it departs from my passion and experience in the subject.
I believe that in those particular cases, my point of view is what makes those blogs different than other options out there. But yes, in many cases, I would like to share an opinion that I consider relevant to what I want to say but departs from deduction and personal beliefs. So in those cases, I believe placing that type of content in jprdvTheCorner (my personal space) would be the right place.
But I also think it is essential (especially for those trying to do their own thing) that I share my experience in doing all this (and by that, I mean the jprdv project), the challenges that I have found, and perhaps some life advice I have learned along the way.
If it is not to inspire, although I hope I can do that, but also to show people what not to do because I have, and am still making, many mistakes along the way, like everybody else. Sharing our experiences can lead others to improve, even if those experiences are not grandiose.
And finally, I do want to have a place where I can create content where I do not need to restrict myself to the central theme of a particular enhanced blog.
So, besides the above, expect a lot of miscellaneous and random things around here.
So jprdvTheCorner is about having a personal outlet where I can generally express ideas about content in other blogs that are opinions based on personal preferences (and not necessarily experience).
Also, I aim to share content that departs from my philosophy of living, my experiences, my victories, and, more importantly, my failures, as I believe there are many, and they can help many along the way. And finally, a place where I can generate content in free-form.
So, if you like the content we deliver in jprdvTheCorner and other enhanced blogs of our content ecosystem, do not forget to subscribe so we can reach more people and create even better and higher quality content.
See you around.
My best wishes, always.
